The Conference of the 2024 Data Factor Application and Innovation Competition, hosted by China Information Association, was held in Beijing on November 26, 2024. Zhou Min, Vice President of the State Information Center(SIC), attended the event and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Zhou Min highlighted that as the most dynamic factor of newly production factor, the data functions as imposing the multiplier effect on economic and social development. It serves as the fundamental and strategic resource for high-quality development, as well as a key to fostering new quality productive forces. The 2024 “Data Factor X” competition, jointly organized by the National Data Administration and other 15 departments, demonstrated the vigorous innovation vitality and development potential in the data field. As the rotating leading department of the competition’s organizing committee secretariat, the Department of Informatization and Industry Development of SIC was assigned for the tasks of  planning, event organization, media coordination and on-site management of conference affairs, and has witnessed the enthusiasm for innovative data factor applications across various industries and regions nationwide.

Zhou Min emphasized that the application of data factors is crucial to the country's overall development. Facing many challenges and heavy tasks, it requires extensive participation and proactive actions from all sectors of society. He hoped that the China Information Association would continue to play its role of bridging all parties as a community organization, fostering collaboration among participants to deepen the integration of industry, academia, research and application, and to explore innovative practice for industry data application. SIC would like to be committed to promoting the innovative application of data factors actively, and contributing to the development of a digital China.
