The 2024 China Computing Valley Digital Industry Development Conference, themed “AI Empowers Industrial and Urban Transformation”, was held in Qingyang, Gansu province on December 20. Xu Qiang, President of the SIC attended the conference and delivered a speech.
Xu Qiang said that the city of Qingyang has actively responded to the development demands in the new era by upholding the principles of “strategic planning defines positioning, scale determines industry status and higher standards elevate quality”, and adopting the three synergies including computing power-electricity coordination, computing power-electricity-industry coordination and regional computing power coordination. By continuously improving the computing power economy development system and further expanding the computing power industry, Qingyang has promoted technological innovation and industrial upgrading through practical applications, striving to hold a favorable position in the digital economy competition. In accordance with the arrangements and requirements of the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Data Administration, the SIC will collaborate with all parties to jointly promote the implementation of key tasks including computing power monitoring and scheduling, computing power-electricity collaborative innovation, low-altitude data infrastructure and the “Digital Shield” platform construction, thereby boosting Qingyang's computing power industry.
During the conference, Xu Qiang, along with Cheng Xiaobo, Member of the Standing Committee of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Provincial Governor, Xia Bing, Vice Administrator of the National Data Administration and Huang Zeyuan, Secretary of the Qingyang Municipal Party Committee, jointly unveiled the “Digital Shield” Joint Laboratory.
Following the conference, Xu Qiang conducted the field research at the Digital Exhibition Center of the national level hub node (Qingyang, Gansu) of the National Integrated Computing Power Network, China Telecom Cloud Computing Big Data Center and China Mobile (Qingyang, Gansu) Data Center Project (Phase II) to learn the layout of computing power infrastructure, computing power scheduling and the progress of digital economy projects. Lu Kai, Deputy Director-General of the Information and Network Security Department of SIC and leading staff from relevant divisions joined the field research.
